DAY 114

I woke up yesterday having finally slept well. It was an amazing feeling! More of the same thing as Friday. I went out after breakfast to a coffee shop. I still can’t say I enjoy the coffee, but it’s definitely growing on me! I walked around for about an hour and found myself at a […]

DAY 113

It was a holiday yesterday—Labor Day. I spent my morning booking flights and applying for a visa for Tanzania in lieu of my itinerary alterations. I did a little bit of work because I’ve been assigned a new task of some data analysis and I need to learn the softwares. At noon I decided to

DAY 112

Yesterday was interesting. I woke up around 3:00am and couldn’t get back to sleep no matter what I tried. I’ve been stressed out recently because my Ethiopian visa was supposed to be extendable, but now I’m finding that it is “not valid for extension”. More about that issue later. At 4:00 I gave up trying

DAY 107

Yesterday was super fun. I was able to get out and tour the city of Hawassa a bit. My morning started with a walk to the hotel where a few coworkers were staying. I had some breakfast there with them before we were kicked out—the prime minister of Ethiopia is visiting there this weekend and

DAY 106

Yesterday was nice. First day back at the office after the field visits. I had missed my morning routine. Unfortunately the power went out right as I was making my eggs. I just cracked them into the pan when the stove snapped off and I was a bit sad to miss my breakfast, but it

DAY 105
