DAY 176

Yesterday was another really busy day at work. I think it’s that the teams I’m working on having been slowly giving me more trust and responsibility; most of my day is pretty independent, but spent on bigger, longer projects rather than constantly completing small tasks. I’m really thankful that I’m working under both the monitoring and evaluation and community health teams—this way I can still bounce around a bit if my brain needs a break from a specific project.

I made sure to leave work a little early. Seeing as I had stuck around pretty late the previous day, I knew I didn’t want to do that back-to-back days. I tried to go for my run, but for some reason my knees felt like jelly. Every time I landed on my foot my knee cap felt like it had massage gum pressed to it and started vibrating in a totally uncomfortable way. I made it about half a mile before I chose to make it an evening walk.

Mishkaki Indulgence

Interestingly, my walk directed me to my historically frequented mishkaki shop. It was nice to be going there during the daylight: the shop is in such a lively part of town and being able to not only hear but see all the activity was an exciting experience. I sat for a while, taking everything in, and kinda biding my time until I would have to make way for the hotel. It was a relaxing evening that flowed into a nice relaxing sleep.

This morning I took my time getting out of bed and heading to the office. The WiFi at the hotel is out right now, so trying to do anything online is difficult. I’m supposed to go to the zoo with my friend, so hopefully I’m able to connect with her!
