DAY 134

Yesterday was surprisingly exciting. Despite being in the office all day, I had a lot of energy and it went towards some really productive work. As I was having my breakfast in the morning, one of the hotel concierge workers approached me. She said that I had to move my room because someone else had […]

DAY 133

Yesterday was very long and led me to poor temper. I woke up at 5am to get ready for the day because I was told that we were leaving for the field at 7:00 sharp. I left the hotel around 6:30 to ensure that I was on time to work and didn’t hold anybody up.

DAY 132

Yesterday flew past me. In general, time has been acting funny. My days are moving extremely quick; it feels like I go to work, go to sleep, and then repeat it. But when I look back at this past week in Shinyanga, for that’s all that it’s been, Im so shocked to think it’s been

DAY 131

My mornings are starting to abide by a routine. I wake up around 6am, brush my teeth, stretch for a little bit (because my body has been very sore some this new exercise regiment), write my blog post, have some breakfast and off to work. Yesterday I woke up earlier though, as I hope to

DAY 130

Yesterday went well. My mornings have been starting a little later than I want, but I’m in somewhat of a routine. I try to wake at 5am, can’t muster the will power for it, and then continue sleeping until 6ish. At that point I wake up, get ready, do one or two things and then

DAY 128

Yesterday turned out to be good. My morning started out really slow. I woke up at 6, had breakfast, and then puttered around. I went out a couple times—to the bank and to get some fruit—but I found it much more enjoyable in my air conditioned room. The brutal heat makes it almost unbearable to

DAY 127

Despite protests from both my sleepy mind and tired body, I was able to wake early. I always feel better throughout the day if I wake up early and don’t have to rush getting ready, so it’s a habit I’m trying to get into. The breakfast yesterday was better than the day prior. I was

DAY 126

Yesterday was perfectly uneventful. It went just how I wished and gave me a warm, relaxing welcome to the city of Shinyanga. I aimed to wake up early yesterday morning, but failed to do so on account of my need for sleep. My alarm pulled me from my dreams at 6am, but I was quick

DAY 125

As rough as yesterday should have been, it went relatively smooth. The whole awake-for-30-hours-thing confused me as to when my “day” ended and the next started in regard to my blog posting. In the end I decided sunup is the best marker. So with that: I spent my morning from 3am to 6am at the
