Yesterday was good, but it was full of moments that reminded me people operate on a different type of time here than back home.
In the morning I woke up to a chilly room and, like all previous mornings, had to muster a lot of courage to get out of my warm bed. I wish I had failed though, because I waited extra long for my bus buddy Abi and by the time she was ready it was already too late. The bus had decided to drive on without us.
At school it was more of the same: work in the music room, get distracted and have a nice break when kids come in to practice their graduation routines, and take a few food breaks in there somewhere.
As school was drawing to a close, class 7 came to practice their graduation routine as well. We finished up a few minutes before school ended at 3:30pm and hurried to go jump on busses. Unfortunately, about five out of the 60 students and myself had been left by our busses. I guess for once people wanted to do something early (leave school). The busses had to turn back around, and I can’t speak for others, but in the end it delayed our route by about an hour.

I left for my run right after getting home. It was a relaxing one. Recently I’ve enjoyed running with my phone or music, but yesterday I brought it so I could take some pictures of this beautiful environment I use as a gym. When I got home, Jovin really wanted to play football and I decided I had enough energy to take him on.

By the time we finished playing it was dark and cold out and I was exhausted. It was an evening that really made me appreciate having hot water here in Arusha! After the shower was a dinner of dagaa (or tiny tiny baby sardines) which I just can’t seem to stomach so I ate a lot of veggies instead. Just how the day started—comfortable and warm under the covers of my bed—it ended. Today is supposed to be warmer than normal, I’m hoping that my weather app isn’t lying to me!
