DAY 185

Yesterday was a very productive day—once I finally got moving that is. I am still awaiting a good night’s and because of this, I kept silencing my alarm. It was around 9:00am before I got out of bed to take breakfast and got ready for the day. I had agreed to go to a church ceremony after the morning service, but I was happy to ditch that on the grounds of “feeling extremely tired”—which wasn’t just a cop out, I was in fact pretty exhausted.

Instead, I chose (and was kind of forced) to go to the office because my data wasn’t working and I had no internet. I wound up spending the whole of my day there from about 10:00am until 5:00pm. I have embarked on a journey to catalog all of my professional and relevant experiences. I’m finding, in applying to jobs, that I haven’t yet reflected on my past experiences and jobs, so it’s very difficult to successfully tailor my resume or write cover letters for specific applications. Because I’ve never done this before, there is a long backlog of reflection to be addressed.

Yesterday I made it through my experience at Hope School in Arusha, working backwards, so I didn’t get very far (I didn’t do this WFG stuff yet because it’s still ongoing, so truly I didn’t get far at all). Already though, I’ve noticed that it has made me more confident and competitive—having a long list of qualifications, experiences and skills to reference is so much better for me than trying to rack my brain with every new application.

Throughout the day I kept taking little walks around the block whenever I needed a break. I was expecting to get burnt out pretty quickly (it being a Sunday and my being at work) but I found the walks to really help!

Evening Laundry

I finally reached a point where I was happy with my progress and decided to head home. I went for a run which didn’t go great—it was still good to get some real exercise in though. With the final hours of my day I did some laundry. I’ve been really good about keeping on top of my laundry situation while I’ve been here. I hope I can bring that home with me. It used to be that I would wait until I had one pair of undies left that I would get to it, but now I seem to have taken a more proactive approach.

Today should be pretty busy at work. I didn’t check anything while I was there yesterday, but I kept seeing some notifications of all the tasks I needed to do, so I’m expecting a nice pile of em waiting for me today.
