Yesterday was really good but kind of weird. The morning wasn’t as welcoming as normal. The sky was dark with clouds and seemed to be inching towards a storm. One thing I’ve really overlooked is how much some good ol vitamin D gets me moving in the morning like how for others a cup of joe perks them up.

After work I went for my run. I guess I’m going to need to really start training with this hood to coast thing on the horizon. I think it’s supposed to be 20ish miles a person over the span of 36 hours and I never really run more than five a day—I think the problem here is pretty obvious. One observation from the day yesterday was this trash burn I spotted while on my run. Every day I see (and smell) small little piles of garbage being burnt as a way of disposal. I always wonder how these go unsupervised and don’t take off into dangerous brush fires, especially during this dry and hot season. Yesterday my question was answered: apparently it does occur. I’m guessing because of how short and sparse vegetation is, it never really gets too far.
This morning I’m running off of a very poor night of sleep (and sorry for the brief blog post). In a compound nearby the hotel’s there was loud music playing all night long—I feel like an old curmudgeon saying this. At least I will admit that it took too long for me to grab my headphones and plug in some blocking white noise. Today is going to be an uphill battle!
