DAY 153

Yesterday marks five months in Africa. Five out of seven. I now have 60 days remaining until I land back in Portland. Anyways, yesterday was similar to the previous day except a special call from my buddies back home. If there’s one thing I’m missing most, it’s my friends (and family of course!). I don’t […]

DAY 152

Yesterday was a work day. Boring and regular. But you know how that goes—up at 6, breakfast, work, a short break for lunch, back to work and then return home a little after 5. It wasn’t until I got home that the day decided to vary. I got back to the hotel and slumped down

DAY 151

Yesterday was a very calm day. My morning went as usual. I got to work a little late because on my way there I realized I had kept my room key with me, so I turned back around to return it. At work I spent all day working on a single task. I had to

DAY 150

Yesterday was a very weird day. I skipped church to sleep in an extra couple hours. I set my alarms for 8:00am, but I still woke up at my regular time. I forced myself to stay in bed and tried to rest longer, but I was in and out of sleep and it didn’t help

DAY 149

Yesterday was a pretty calm day. I woke up early but took a long time getting out of bed. I did my duolingo for a while, stretched and then finally got moving. Breakfast was especially good yesterday; the hotel had these crepe like things, some eggs, potatoes and some other stuff. I spent about an

DAY 147

Yesterday was a much welcomed day of boring desk work. I was starting to get exhausted and worn out with all the events and days in the hot sun, it was about time for things to slow down. My morning was relaxing. I woke up and was able to lay in bed for a little

DAY 146

Yesterday was the final day of the commotion. I’m both glad to be getting back to desk work and sad to be saying goodbye to the visiting staff. It was another early morning out in the field. We left my hotel around 8:00am after having some breakfast and got to the site an hour later.

DAY 145

Yesterday was a very special experience. I had a few complaints about how long the day was, but in the end I had a great time. One thing I am grateful for these days is when I can eat breakfast; it’s only been one or two times I’ve had to skip it, but those miserable

DAY 144

Yesterday was yet another long day in the field. Thankfully it’s started a bit later—and by a bit I mean a bit—I got to sleep in until 6:30am! I got picked up after quickly stuffing some breakfast down, and we hit the road at 7:15. We got to our first site for filming at 8:00am.
