DAY 150

Yesterday was a very weird day. I skipped church to sleep in an extra couple hours. I set my alarms for 8:00am, but I still woke up at my regular time. I forced myself to stay in bed and tried to rest longer, but I was in and out of sleep and it didn’t help to make me feel less tired, if anything it made me more so. When I finally did wake up/get out of bed I was in a bad mood. I didn’t do much with my morning but sulk around.

Walk

At one point I decided to try going for a walk, but even that didn’t help.

At about half past one I went to a friend’s place for lunch. I was hoping that I would be able to help cook, and learn a little bit about some delicious Swahili dishes, but I was surprised to find the food already prepared. It was a nice surprise even though I missed out on the cooking lesson—I was pretty hungry and didn’t really want to spend 3 hours waiting to eat.

Nail Salon

After lunch I accompanied my friend while she had some beauty work done. We went to her nail and hair salons. It wasn’t exactly my type of thing, but it was good for me to just be out and about given I was feeling a bit cooped up. She showed me a local thrift market, though it was empty because it’s only held on Saturdays, and I hope I can go next weekend.

Buggy Dinner

After my adventures ended and I was going home, I decided yet again that I didn’t want to be cooped up. I had missed my running window with the outings, so I decided to just walk around again. I came upon a little restaurant that had some good looking french fries which peaked my interest. As I was eating, a horde of bugs decided to attack all of the light bulbs throughout the joint. I wound up leaving my meal only half eaten because a bunch of the bugs had decided they wanted to share the meal with me.

When I got home I wasn’t tired like I had hoped o would be. I went to bed later than usual—about 10:00pm. Today I woke up feeling much better thankfully, and yesterdays experience helped me to learn that it’s best for me if I just keep a regular sleep schedule even if I’m feeling a little more tired than usual when I wake up in the morning. Today at work should be busy but straight forward and productive. Hopefully the weather stays good afterwards so I can go for my run, the past few days it’s been sprinkling a little bit right around my running time.
