I’m just now realizing that past Saturdays here, I’ve spent them at Hope School. Yesterday I was able to sleep in and relax!
The morning and early afternoon was super slow. I did laundry, did some work even, and safari guests visited the house which was exciting. The weather stayed pretty grey throughout most of the day.
Around 3:00pm a few of us went to town. I was told it was just a quick trip to pick something up. We didn’t get home until nearly 9:00pm. Thankfully I expected this, so it didn’t throw off my day or anything.
On our way home we got some Pizza Hut for dinner. I was surprised at how popular it was for not just locals, but also for tourists. I would think that when traveling in Tanzania, Pizza Hut shouldn’t be the first pick, but I guess other people are more careful about getting stomach problems than I am.
Overall the day was boring and relaxing. Lots of time lounging and driving around in a car. It felt nice to take it slow, but I’m also starting to feel like my time here is quickly coming to a close and like I need to make the most of it. But maybe I’ll be happiest if I just take everything in, slowly and thoughtfully, one last time.
