Yesterday I spent most of the day out and about. Most of my morning was spent online doing some job searching and whatnot. I was totally content with this, but I realized that I needed to get out. I went to take a late breakfast around 11:00am, just on the backside of the hotel. The food was amazing and I’m surprised I haven’t gone there before.
After lunch I decided to go for a midday run. This was a mistake at it was scorching hot and I barely made it 3 miles before slowing to a walk and turning right back around. I got home, showered, was feeling good for going out to the zoo and then completely crashed. I don’t know where my energy went, but I felt like I could hardly stand up. I took a good nap—which ended up screwing me over later in the night—and woke up right before dinner time.

I decided to go to a food spot fairly far away. It was one I dined at just a week prior, after the thrift market.

I walked the 30 minute route there and was happy to discover they had started preparing the evening meat. Normally places prepare lunch and dinner ahead of time, not to order, but at very unpredictable times and I’m kind of left at their whim. I ran into a friend there and he showed me that I had taken a long round about way to get the restaurant. Anyways, I had a nice dinner and was glad to only walk 15 minutes home seeing as the sun was setting.

My walk home was nice and quiet. When I got back to empire hotel I thought I was ready to call it a night, but the nap I had taken early left me struggling to fall asleep. I was tossing and turning all last night until nearly midnight, and because I can’t sleep much past 7:00am due to the light and noise, I’m still feeling pretty tired today. I think even if I feel exhausted and like I could use another nap, I’ll just have to power on so I can sleep soundly tonight and be ready for the week ahead.
