DAY 98

Wowwww. I’m very impressed looking at that number. But, I just did the some math because I was interested and my entire planned stay is 247 days. So I’m only about 2/5 of the way through. This is exciting, but I’m also a bit sad because I miss home.

Anyways, yesterday was good and boring. I’m finding a nice routine and it’s something I should be able to stick with during my time here. Work “starts” at 8:00am, but for the first 30 minutes the entire staff get together on the meeting room (my temporary office) and have devotion. So work begins at 8:30am. For me, I still have a lot of orientation tasks to get done (and I think it will be more of the same today) and that kept me very busy up until lunch.

Lunch is about an hour break between noon and 1pm, and most people go home for the break. Because I don’t tend to eat or cook big lunches and because the office is only a 5-10 minute walk from my place, I find myself with a lot of extra time during lunch. Yesterday I was able to relax a little bit and work on some non internship related things which was nice. It was right back to work though, after lunch, and I was able to get a lot of stuff done.

Bank View

Around 4:00pm my buddies who set up my housing took me to the bank to pay for it. It was a whole ordeal and took near an hour and unfortunately I have to go back today because we weren’t able to figure it out fully.

Walk Home

We went back to the office and I was sent on my way home. I did some shopping at the market with some translating help from one of my buddies. I think I’m going to be buying cooking supplies nearly every day rather than stocking up and keeping it in the freezer/fridge. It’s so quick and convenient because the market is on my way home, and it’s nice to know I’m eating fresh food every day.

I got home, went for my run and then had some dinner. Im really out of shape these days and it’s kind of pissing me off how hard it is to run just 1 or 2 miles, but I’m glad I have the chance to get back in the habit now! I slept like crap last night, I’m not sure why, but hopefully I can keep up today and make it to the weekend without burning out.
