DAY 82

Yesterday was pretty straight forward. I drove Jovin, Rebecca, and the neighbors to school again. The punctuality of our school bus is something that could be worked on. At school things moved pretty quick.

Towering Sunflowers
Beans and Corn

Pius and I checked in on our plants that we started about a month ago. It’s crazy how much they’ve grown in such a short amount of time—I guess all the rain is good for something.

After break Pius and I had back to back English lessons. Today he was with me, but he had scheduled an exam, so we didn’t do much teaching.

Exam Review

We did a bit of revisions right after the practice exam, and I really dislike this style of teaching/learning. It was just going over the answers with very little discussion about why it is the right answer. But I guess it works, the kids do well on national exams and Hope School gets a lot of applause for its success.

A Pool…?

Yesterday I spent some time wandering around the school grounds and discovered our empty swimming pool to be filled! Unfortunately, it was rain water and runoff—not the safest for swimming. There were a lot of frogs and insects swimming around in the algae filled pond. I’m surprised how much water had filled it up, some parts are 5 feet deep so that’s a lot of water just from rain.

Homework

School came to a close pretty quickly. The days that end at 3:30 feel super short and fast compared to the ones that end at 5:30. Yesterday’s after school activity was cleaning my room. I was meaning to do so over the past weekend, but it slipped my mind and I didn’t have much time. It was nice to wind down with some chores, I’ve been keeping my self pretty busy and stressing out a little bit for my next adventure. This morning I started the day with a walk which I have missed very much! Today should be good because it’s the final day of school before the remedial students’ true break begins!
