Yesterday was a great day. I hadn’t realized how much the weather was weighing down my mood until the sunny skies revitalized me.

As always, the route got messed up. Abby and I arrived at school at our regular time to find the bus had left without us. Pius decided to go on our route because he had heard that Abby was sick and we wouldn’t be going for the route. Never mind asking Abby or myself.
It was nice having some extra time in the morning—I typically get to school and jump right into it—and I was able to rest a little bit before the day started. I worked on my website a little bit. I’m hoping by next week I’ll have a full website ready to publish and you’ll be viewing these posts on a nicer looking site.
Once kids started pouring in, it was back to the exam grind. I marked and used my computer to input the grades into excel. I hosted a little excel intro session with some of the teachers who were interested; not many of them own computers, but they all want to learn basic softwares and programs. I’m no professional, I’m sure my accountant family members would be disappointed in my skills, but I knew enough to show some basic tools that can be used for creating a grade book (and showed how to translate that into a budget sheet if ever need be).
Yesterday moved much slower than the day prior. Maybe because I was anxious to get to the music practical exam session, the day decided to move stubbornly slow. But when it arrived time I was very excited, happy to finally see some progress from my students. My role was to grade their conducting skills (you know; the magic wand wavers) and I was very surprised. Many of the kids got extremely nervous to get up in front of the class to wave their arms around. Normally they love to show off playing instruments, but I think this is more awkward—the silent technical performance isn’t always as fun.

It stayed sunny for most of the day. There were a couple soft showers; those never lasted more than 15ish minutes. Unfortunately, my laundry didn’t dry all the way and I’m starting to run a little low. But who doesn’t love a good nail biter.
Yesterday evening we got home from school around 6:00. I was super tired so I took an early dinner (still at 8) and then retired to my room around 9.

I’m not sure what today holds, but it looks to be back to the regular rain.
