Yesterday officially marks 2 full months in Tanzania. It was a good and typical day. I was very fatigued—I think I might be getting a little sick—so, I volunteered to supervise exams.

If you have some time, I recommend looking at this exam that they take. I’m disappointed. This exam comes from the city council of Arusha. It is their district exam test. And there are grammar, spelling, and logic errors all over. It’s a bummer—if this is the quality of a mind who is the top level of the education department you have to ask what quality of education the kids are getting. It’d be interesting to see if these mistakes present on the exam also exist in the curriculum, if they persist throughout the years of education, and what long term effects they have on English dialect.
Yesterday flew past which I was grateful for. I read my book during exams and worked on some marking as well. By the time it was Riveting Results lesson, I was so drained, but the day was almost over so I pushed on.

The afternoon route took longer than usual because we were giving a new driver (different from the previous day and morning route). I was nodding off a bit on the bus, but it’s hard to sleep because of all the bouncing and lurching.
When I got home in the evening it was nearing 6:00. I was able to rest—not nap, though—and worked on figuring out my upcoming travel plans. I need to change a flight right now and unfortunately Ethiopian Airlines makes this very difficult. I’m hoping to sort it out today and be done with it! Dinner was one of my favorites. A good steamed rice with a curryish chicken and some greens. I went to sleep very early (around 9:00) and woke up this morning feeling much better! I have a lot of energy for the day ahead so I’m excited to get going!
