Yesterday was another very busy and productive day. Nothing exciting about my morning. I have resumed listening to a daily news podcast though. In Arusha I had picked up the habit, but let it go when the only thing I heard about was the war. Nowadays interest has seemed to die down and the news is covering things that are a little less depressing and a little more interesting. Anyways, that’s the only new thing I’ve tossed in to my morning routine recently.

On my walk to work I finally got a picture of something I’ve been wanting to share—trash disposal. The main method of getting rid of trash (and maybe the only one) is burning it. Every day I can smell the burning leaves, plastic, and other things almost everywhere I go. In connection with this, littering is also a widely accepted action. At first these things were very difficult for me to reckon with. I asked people about it and inquired to whether they considered consequences relating to these things, I’m not quite sure what I was expecting though. Over the last months all of it has become normal. I even just toss my trash on the ground when walking nowadays, something I’ll have to stop when I get back home.
Work was normal. After my unproductive Monday, I’ve really been trying to not let that happen again. I’m learning some tricks to keep my mind sharp throughout the day. One of my favorites is to take a 5 or 10 minute break every hour or so (more frequently if possible).

After work I went for my run. It was a rough one. My heels and Achille’s tendons (I think) are starting to get a bit sore after the chronic stress and impact I’ve been putting on them. I’m hoping that with continued exercise they will just build up some type of strength or immunity to pain, but I’m worried that’s not the case—especially with very few rest days on the calendar.

After the run I did some more laundry. I think I should have one more load for today and then I’ll be caught up, but I’m not sure I’m up for three days in a row. As you can tell from the picture, it was pretty late by the time I finished. I rushed to shower and get to bed, feeling very ready for a good nights rest. And thankfully that’s just what I got.
This morning I woke up feeling great, even beating my alarm to the punch. Today will be almost identical to yesterday I bet, but I’m hoping I’ll find some energy to go out to a new dinner spot this evening!
