DAY 134

Yesterday was surprisingly exciting. Despite being in the office all day, I had a lot of energy and it went towards some really productive work.

New Room
Who Dis?

As I was having my breakfast in the morning, one of the hotel concierge workers approached me. She said that I had to move my room because someone else had reserved it. I was a little alarmed, it was early and I had much on my mind, so it startled me a bit. It ended up being in my favor—the new room comes with a 25% price reduction (down to $12 a night now) and I’m hoping I can turn it into my forever home for the next two and a half months. I moved everything hurriedly because I was already late to work.

At work I started a bit slow with the distraction of the room transfer on my mind. Once I got going though, I was off and running. The day was very productive and I was very proud of all that I was able to accomplish. Funny enough, I experienced—or I guess noticed—the first power outage at this office while in a meeting. It only lasted a few minutes so it was fine, but they always seem to come at the most inconvenient times.

Running Man

I left work at 5:00 sharp hoping to get in a good long run, but I was instead led by a coworker away from home towards a restaurant she wanted to introduce me to. I was happy at this detour—I ended up going back to the restraint last night for dinner because the food was so delicious and inexpensive. Anyways, I was able to start my run at 6:00 but was toying with darkness. It’s scary enough running on the side of the road with speeding vehicles mere feet away during the day, I can’t imagine how it would feel in the black of night with only the headlights to illuminate my path.

$2 Dinner

Like I said, I found my way back to the restaurant my friend had showed me after work. I sat down and ordered some mishkaki and had this lovely plate out to me in no time.

New Friend

Throughout the course of my meal I met Octavia. We had dinner together, he provided me with entertaining conversation and stories, and then we parted ways. I got home at half past eight, still all sweaty and gross from my run. I showered and crashed.

Today should be interesting. I need to do my laundry this morning, but once that’s done I have a free day all to myself. Some people have invited me to join them for some things, but I’m unsure of what I want to do yet. I think I’ll just be listening to my hearts desires as I go throughout the day—I might make it one of going around and trying many different foods and dishes.
