I’m very glad I got to rest a little bit yesterday.

In the morning I went for a walk along the main road. I think Sunday must be the day everyone has their wedding here—I saw many parades of cars honking up and down this road, announcing pairs of newlyweds. It’s fun to see during the day, but when they continue into the dark hours of the night it’s a little bit annoying, especially because my home is right on the main road.
The rest of my day I spent lounging around. I watched two movies yesterday, The Grand Budapest Hotel and The Interpreter. I’m very happy to be watching movies again, given I have the time, but I think soon I will become very busy. I’m still sort of getting oriented with WFG and I think as the weeks go on I will be asked to do more and more tasks for the teams I’m helping out. Don’t get me wrong though, I’m very excited at the prospect of being busy—whenever I don’t have anything to do I get pretty restless and normally waste a lot of time just doing nothing.
Yesterday was a tricky one because I wanted to work on some personal projects, but the power was out all day. I’m very confused as to the deal with electricity and power here. I’m not sure if there are scheduled blackouts or if the grid just can’t handle demand. Thankfully the power shut off right as I had finished making breakfast, but it stayed off all day until I was falling asleep around 9:30 which was a bit irritating. I hope this isn’t a persistent problem or else I will have to be getting up around 5:30 to make breakfast and I will have to wait until 9:30 to make dinner.
It was also raining all day which was a bummer. I couldn’t get out besides my morning walk and I felt a little antsy throughout the day. But, it let me watch my movies and take a good lazy day.

Normally at night the street lights outside of my window annoy me a little bit. The curtains I have don’t exactly block out their light and sometimes it makes it hard to fall asleep. However, last night it was nice to have the outages shutting off all the power to these lights. Everything went pitch black around 7:30 and I decided to go to sleep very early. Unfortunately, I had a swarm of mosquitoes in my room and I didn’t sleep too well, but I was able to find a mosquito net, so I hope I can set that up tonight.
