Day 69

I could call yesterday the opposite of the day prior, but I was still I Serengeti, so that wouldn’t be appropriate.

My Morning View

There isn’t much for me to say about yesterday. I stayed in the camp all day relaxing. It’s not exactly a resort; the purpose is to eat meals and sleep at, not entertain throughout the day—that’s what animals are for. Lucas had many tasks to deal with and I didn’t see him until 8:00 at night. My friends were all working, preparing for the guests, and they wouldn’t let me help, so I was a bit lonely. From around 7 a.m. until noon I did work on my computer. I’m very grateful there is WiFi, or else I would have been stuck reading all day. I took about an hour lunch until 1 p.m. and then went back to working. I’m getting pretty efficient at building my website now; most of today was dedicated to learning basic-intermediate tools, it wasn’t until later that I actually started putting content on my pages.

My Workspace

Like I said, I was pretty lonely throughout the day. I didn’t really see anyone other than at meal times. A group of guests came around 7 p.m. and I joined them for dinner. I’d say 10 hours of yesterday were spent working on my computer—in Serengeti national park! It’s not like I could have really gone anywhere or done anything (when I got really bored I walked from one side of the camp to the other and back, but that was only a 10 minute distraction). I went to bed pretty late last night; I hung around the restaurant after dinner chatting with the guests and Lucas, happy to have a bit of company. This morning started at 5 a.m. because I am tagging along on a morning hippo safari. I was supposed to be leaving today with Lucas, but he has decided to stay for the next week. My only option is to leave is tomorrow with the group, so Lucas was nice enough to figure out something to do for me today. Hopefully we spot some hippos today. I heard some last night before I went to bed because there’s a river nearby, but I’m hoping to see one.
