DAY 210

It’s crazy how close I am to being home. I’m so so so excited to sleep in my own bed. Today is my last full day in Arusha and it certainly has a bittersweet feeling.

Per usual I went on the bus route yesterday morning. I think I’m building up a bank of “lacked sleep” because getting out of my warm and comfy bed gets a little harder each and every morning. I don’t have much time for anything before the bus route because I try to get as much sleep as possible, so it’s a rush to get dressed, eat breakfast and get to the bus in time.

Market
Town

I had been at school for maybe two hours before I got picked up by Sylvia (Lucas’ oldest daughter who is my age) to go to town and get my bus ticket for tomorrow’s overnight travels. I thought it would just be a 30 minutes there 30 minutes back kinda thing, but it wound up taking around 5 hours with a host of little side missions. I had a meeting at 2pm, so when it reached 1pm and my buddy still had a bunch more tasks to get done in town, we decided it best for me to take a motorcycle back to school.

I had a meeting that stopped me from going along with the bus route which made me sad. It was probably a good thing though because I had missed out on a lot of work with the whole town outing and I needed to make up that time.

Deliciousness

After I got back from school I continued working a little bit. It was also laundry day because, although I’m not beginning my packing like I should, at least I’m forward thinking enough to know I want to have clean clothes while I’m traveling. Dinner came around late, but it was certainly worth the wait. The menu consisted of ugali, sautéed veggies, a summery salad, some other sides and some awesome goat meat.

I went straight to bed after dinner because it had gotten pretty late. Today will be my last full day Arusha and I’m a bit bummed I’ll be checked out with work, but I also know that I’ll be able to spend time with my family tomorrow so I don’t feel too bad about it.
