DAY 208

Yesterday was too long for my liking.

Chilly Morning

Abi has kind of moved out of Lucas’ home. She has her own place nearby but she still eats meals and spends most of her time with the family, I think she just goes to sleep there. But this means I have to meet my bus buddy at the bus stop rather than walking together. This also means that the main house I had left my jacket in the night prior was locked up and closed because Abi wasn’t leaving from there. Thankfully the walk was short—no more than five minutes—and dealing with arranging the kids on the bus warmed me up a bit.

Music Teachers

Work was nothing exceptional. If anything my productivity was kind of low (and I’m blaming my sickness). There was one nice thing though: teacher Ezekia had our music students prepare a little song and dance to say goodbye to me. It was very sweet, but it was also really funny because it was put together rather quickly, so the kids were just playing the tune to happy birthday and came up with some different words.

Back of the Pack

I went for a very brief run after work because I was feeling worn down. Running around the neighborhood rather than on the road like I usually do led me to trail a few groups of cattle. I’ll just say I like not having to dodge the cow poop.

Chicken Farming
A Bundle of Joy

After my run I thought the day would be over, but I thought wrong. I agreed to go on little field trip to one of Lucas’ nearby properties to “drop something off”. The dropping off turned into setting up like chick pens for three hours. We got home around 10pm and I was totally burnt. Thankfully it led to good sleep and I am feeling rested and ready for today (and a little less sick). It’s getting to the point where I can really tell that my days are numbered because including today I only have three days left at Hope!
