Yesterday was nice. I’m really getting into the coffee habit. Before work I stopped by the coffee shop near my place and had a good ol cup a joe. I know in Tanzania they don’t drink coffee, so hopefully I haven’t built up a reliance on it for caffeine energy.
Normally Fridays move slowly and are hard to get through, but I had my projects to work on and time flew past.

For lunch I took a very short walk around the area. I wasn’t hungry for anything, but I still wanted to refresh my energy as best I could. I also knew I wanted to leave work early to go eat dinner out, so I needed to shorten my lunch anyways.
I left work early, as planned, and went to get dinner. One of my favorite foods is definitely shirot and tibes. I wasn’t able to get a picture because the moment it landed on my table I started scarfing it down. Hopefully I’ll remember next time if there is one.

Dinner lasted a while, afterwards it was nearly dark and I decided to go down to the lake to see the sun set. I was surprised by the number of people—adults and kids both—standing at the edge of the bank fishing.

I settled down on the shore, plugged in some tunes, and enjoyed the evening turning to night. A lone hippo was hanging out in the water not but 100 feet from where I was sitting. I was unsure whether I should be afraid or not—the calm manner of the fishermen reassured me that this hippo was friendly.
I got home near 7:30pm, showered, and went to bed very early. This past week I haven’t been exercising, and interestingly I’ve been feeling more fatigued than when I was running every day. I’m unsure what today holds, but I want to go to the office for a few hours before midday to finish some work before I’m unavailable for the majority of next week with traveling and settling in to the next new city.
